The attraction of Baile 1 Mai Spa, whose accommodation system belongs to both rural tourism and agro tourism, is mainly the hot water (32 °C) used in spas for treating rheumatic diseases and also in the two swimming pools. “Venus” swimming pool, with a large capacity of a few thousand places and with lots of swimming pools, one Olympic and the other with jumping boards, “The swimming pool with waves” with a smaller capacity of places which is a significant attraction because of the waves produced in the swimming pool.

Visiting the thermal lake with water lilies – unique in Europe – is a natural botanic reservation situated in the center of Baile 1 Mai Spa, is protected by law and considered a natural reservation. This flower didn’t exist in our lake at first and it’s supposed that the seeds were brought here by the migrating birds a long time ago and developed because of the thermal water. The water lily originates in the Nile waters.

“Manej il Cavallino” Horse Base from locality Haieu, equipped with a wide range of trained horses both for beginners and also for masters of equitation; For children aged between 3 and 9 years we have Schecland trained ponies. The courses are arranged through forests and meadows, in groups with company.

Trip to Bears’ Cave in locality Chiscau, a travel sight unique in Europe, situated at a distance of 90 km from Baile 1 Mai, was discovered in 1975 in a former marble quarry. Having 1.5 km length, the cave is a speleological reservation that shelters an impressive number of stalactites and stalagmites in the most strange forms, as well as life traces and fossils of the cavern bear extinguished more than 15.000 years ago.

Trip to Stana de Vale, a permanent rest resort, situated in Vladeasa Mountain at an altitude of 1100 m, is surrounded by coniferous forests. Due to its position, Stana de Vale is an important base of alpinism, a starting point on the paths leading to the heart of Apuseni Mountains, an ideal place for winter sports.

On Somleu hill which dominates the Spa one can find Betfia paleontological reservation, which, besides having an interesting Pleistocene fossil fauna – remains of vertebrates - shelters a remarkable monument of nature – Betfia Crater. It has an uneven surface of 86 m, showing a natural well from its surface, with a vertical of 54 m. The fossil-ferrous sites on Somleu hill are situated at approximate 9 km SE of Oradea.

Trip in Oradea, situated at 6 km from Baile 1 Mai, a town with ancient historical and cultural traditions attracts its visitors and their interest by the beauty and diversity of sights: Tarii Crisurilor Museum, the Roman-Catholic Cathedral, the Moon Church, “Gheorghe Sincai” County Library, the “Black Eagle” Palace and Passage, the State Theatre, the Medieval fortress, as well as many buildings from the end of the 19th century.

The Holy Cross Monastery was established in 1992, situated at a distance of 2 km from Oradea, in a place with no dwelling places before, but in a short time becoming a true monastic complex. The first church of the monastery was a little wooden church, dating from the beginning of the 18th century, a historical monument. It was brought from Corbesti village, Bihor County in an advanced degrading state, but it was reconstructed so that it regained its prior magnificence.
